Split Systems
Wall Hung Units
The wall hung split system is the most cost effective way to condition a single area. The indoor unit has to be connected to the outdoor unit with interconnecting refrigeration pipes and electrical wiring. In addition there is a condensate water drain line which is to carry away the moisture removed from the air during the cooling process. Generally if possible the indoor unit is installed on an external wall to allow the interconnecting services to penetrate the wall and drop down to the outdoor unit within a colour bond cover. If there is no external wall available to accommodate the indoor unit, the alternative is to install it on a wall that backs onto a cupboard which allows the interconnecting services to be hidden within the cupboard.
Wall / Floor Console
If your preference is not to have a high wall mounted unit, an option is the WALL / FLOOR console which may be installed near floor level. The installation criteria is much the same as the high wall unit except that if the floor is elevated and accessible from beneath, than the services may penetrate the floor, therefore allowing a greater freedom in locating the indoor unit.
Cassette Unit
If there is no wall space available, to accommodate the indoor unit, the CASSETTE unit is the answer. The indoor unit in recessed into the ceiling and is connected to the outdoor unit with interconnecting refrigeration pipes and electrical wiring. This allows greater freedom in locating the indoor unit.
Ducted Heat Pump
The indoor unit is usually located in the ceiling or under the floor with flexible ductwork distributing conditioned air through registers located throughout the area to be conditioned. The condenser is installed outside the home.Whole House Heating & Cooling
The capacity of the system will be selected on the basis of you deciding on what the greatest area will be that you wish to condition,at the same time.

Zoned System Heating & Cooling
Motorized zoning is the convenient way to turn outlets on and off. Electric motors will operate the damper to control the air flow to the selected outlet or a group of outlets.Manual zoning is less expensive and allows a greater flexibility in isolating certain areas.
Zoning may be used to trade off one area against another, thereby stretching the capacity of the equipment OR to reduce the running cost by conditioning a smaller area.
Ducted Gas Heating
Ducted central heating is without a doubt the most effective way to heat your entire house. If you heat your entire home, you never have to walk out of a warm room into a cold one.You can be watching TV while the kids are in bed, and everyone stays warm. Zoning enables you to divide your home into sections so living areas can be heated during the day and sleeping areas at night

Ducted central heating comprises of a central heating unit, which is connected to a series of outlets. Positioned strategically throughout your home, these outlets, or ducts, are installed either in the floor or ceiling.
The location of the heating unit depends on the construction of your house. If your house is built on a concrete slab, the furnace is installed in the ceiling space. If it has space underneath or a very low roof line, the furnace is installed outside or under the floor. The ductwork, which connects the outlets to the heating unit, is neatly tucked away out of sight. The location of the heating unit depends on construction of your house. If the house is built such that there is not sufficient room for at least the ductwork under the floor then the installation will have to be in the ceiling. If there IS sufficient space under the floor then the furnace may be installed either under the floor OR external to the building. The ductwork which connects the outlets to the furnace, in either case will be out of sight.
Ducted Cooling Only
Cooling may be either by a refrigeration system OR by evaporative cooling.Evaporative cooling
Evaporative coolers are available in five colors. The unit will be located above the roof.
Cool air will be ducted to ceiling mounted registers.
Refrigerative System
The decision now is whether you wish to condition:- ONE area only. This requirement may be satisfied with a wall hung or floor console split system.
- DUCTED to a number of areas. This system may be an “ADD ON” to a gas furnace or an independent system consisting of an indoor unit, located either under the floor or within the ceiling space and an outdoor unit located external to the building.

VRV = Variable Refrigerant Volume
VRV systems are intended for VERY LARGE HOMES and COMMERCIAL installations.
A “VRV” system can be designed to suit almost any capacity requirement.
The system may be:
HEAT PUMP SYSTEM - Either heats or cools in all areas.
HEAT RECLAIM HEAT PUMP SYSTEM - Is able to heat in some areas while cooling in other areas at the same time.
Daikin’s revolutionary VRV systems provide air conditioning solutions in any type or size of building, whether new or refurbished.
Daikin VRV with inverter technology achieves significant savings in energy, running costs and space.
Daikin VRV outdoor units can be easily located on the roof (in a commercial application) avoiding the need for a plant room and providing more usable space for occupancy.
VRV is quicker and easier to install and requires less plumbing and wiring than water-based chiller systems. Because installation can be carried out one floor at a time, new buildings can be occupied quicker and there is minimum disruption when VRV is retro-fitted in existing buildings.
Independent control of each unit avoids energy wastage and a wide range of indoor unit options provides great flexibility for tenants. Reduced installation space, extended pipe runs and the neat appearance of the VRV outdoor units provides greater flexibility in design.
Better management and efficiency of a VRV system can be achieved with Daikin’s intelligent control options. These sophisticated but easy-to-operate controls provide building owners and managers with individual monitoring and control of every unit in any size building. The Intelligent Touch Controller with colour display and user-friendly screen is a highly advanced centralised air conditioning management system. The Intelligent Manager provides increased efficiency in the operation of air conditioning in larger buildings, resulting in lower energy costs. The BACnet Gateway connects with Daikin VRV units and BMS to provide integrated control systems.
Daikin VRV has a self diagnosis feature making maintenance quick and easy.
